- The European Accessibility Days: why a symposium ?
Today, 12 million French people say they are unable to perform common life basic acts without help.
The French administration register 1 500 000 visually impaired persons, 2 250 000 with motion disability, 1 000 000 mentally handicapped, 450 000 hearing impaired, 60 000 blind.
30% of the French population is directly concerned today,
28% of this population will be 65 in 2020.
We need to plan and build today our living spaces, access to services and activities, so that they will be effective and useful tomorrow.
- The aims are:
To increase significantly the awareness of the universal accessibility challenge among the general population, public authorities, project managers and industrialists.
To change the accessibility image and to involve everyone with this concern,
To set up accessibility as an axis of progress in the short term for cities, managers and citizens.
- The tools are:
Practical testimony in a French and international environment,
A platform for exchanges between researchers, companies, experts and government,
Lectures and workshops,
